I just wish Monroe had done the Barry Sanders thing and just walked away. No one would have blamed him. He certainly would have been more respected for it than he's been for the way it went down.

I have no issue with Monroe's advocacy and I don't think it's why he was cut. he was cut because he couldn't stay healthy and there were questions of his desire to play.
He should have asked for some level of editorial say on the final article, because if he's trying to advocate for weed only as a pain relief option the article fails. It's hard to make that point when the author is coming across as a college kid "dude I'm soooooo high". And I may be reading too much into it, but he's advocating weed and saying that opiods warn you not to drive or operate heavy machinery. I hope he doesn't think it's ok to smoke and take different cannabis substances all day and still drive.
