The Quite Timely 2016 Draft Thread

Paging Wicked. Wicked, please come to the thread.

Given the WR situation we're facing next season, it seems like a foregone conclusion that the team will be bringing in a number of wide receivers in the off season.

IMO, Perriman is the only true lock for the roster. Waller will be under contract, but he's a late round guy that could be cut loose if he doesn't develop without too much heartache.

Timing is everything and, unfortunately, there's neither a strong Free Agent class not a deep WR class.

Who is on everyone's wish list--be it a pro or a draft pick?

    I'll start:

I want Alshon Jeffrey and Laquan Treadwell (but only in the second or beyond).

I like Treadwell too, but I'm not sure I'd spend a 1st on him. Truthfully, I don't think next year's crop of receivers is all that impressive. There are some good players, but I don't see any sure things.

Next year's strength is defense. I fully expect the Ravens to draft a pass rusher or corner in round 1.

As far as prospects I like, I think Will Fuller out of Notre Dame is really intriguing. He isn't very big (listed at 6' 188lbs), but he is incredibly quick. Great footwork and think he'd be ideal for the WCO. I'd say based on his tape he is, at worst, a high 4.4 player.

Another guy is Da'runnya Wilson out of Mississippi State. I got to see him against Auburn last weekend in Auburn. First impression - the guy is enormous. He's a thick 6'5"-6'6" receiver. Probably around 230lbs. He isn't a speedster at all and he isn't overly quick, but I saw a guy with really great hands that snatches passes out of the air and does it with defenders draped all over him. He isn't afraid to get physical. Honestly, he kind of looks like a young Plax out there.

Guys that I can think of off the top of my head:

    - Tyler Boyd, Pitt
    - Michael Thomas, Ohio State
    - Laquan Treadwell, Ole Miss
    - Corey Coleman, Baylor
    - Josh Doctson, TCU

1st and 2nd are going D. But the kid out of LSU in the 3rd would be acceptable. Wed get insight from Cam. And he'll be sorta pro ready.

Thomas is interesting as well. Nice size at 6'3" 215lbs. Hard to gauge how good he could be in that offense though.

If the kid from Clemson declares what round would people be comfortable taking a flyer on him in?

I also (on defense) like Will Likely in the 3rd or 4th.

He make alot of acrobatic catches and does well with his feet. He has the bloodlines as well, as he is Keyshawn's nephew. I actually think Ohio State under-utilizes him b/c of the offense they run. He has had 2 games vs VT CB Kendall Fuller and got the best of him both times.

Speaking on the FA stuff, there are quite a few #2 types that could be out there. Someone like Sanu or Benjamin might be worth a look, depending on who else they have on the roster. Jeffrey is really a pipe dream that isn't going to happen whether he hits FA or not. There's always Crabtree, but I'm thinking he's probably going to get a little too much for the Ravens blood if he keeps playing like he has so far.

Way too high for him. I'd say 6th.
