Seriously...someone asked Harbaugh about it and he said he didn't know the defense well enough.

How much does he need to know the defense for him to just rush from the edge...he won't have to blitz, he's going to be a pass rush specialist.

I guess what I am trying to say is this, even if we hypothetically went with a four man rush on EVERY third and long, and alternated plays between Doom and Player X as the fourth rusher, are we better served in that very specific role, with someone of Jason Babin's pedigree, or Z'Darius Smith or Courtney Upshaw "playing with some energy" (quote from Harbs last week)?

I actually thought they were giving a lot of different looks to get pressure. And they did put pressure on Dalton (see filmstudy's blog).

They forced a pick6, got a sack and turnover. It's the back end that was completely lost and kept shuffling players into different positions. Arrington on the corner when he's a slot guy. safety on AJ Green. He should've tackled him at the line and taken the penalty...

Watching Courtney Upshaw pass rush was painful. There was one play where Dalton took a couple steps and it looked like Upshaw fell flat on his face. Putting Babin in there on passing downs with Doom on the other side is just common sense
