Do we make another move?
It's that boring post-draft, pre-training-camp time of year, so I thought I'd try and get a discussion going.
We have a knack for making a vet signing prior to the season, mostly for depth/camp bodies.
Any guesses on who we could target/if we'll target anyone.
I think the general thought on this board is to let the young guys have a shot, but bringing vet competition in is always healthy.
Some of the notable FA's left are James Jones, Osi Umenyiora, Kevin Williams and Pierre Thomas.
Personally Umenyiora is interesting to me. We only have 4 OLB's and maybe in a sole pass rusher sub package (he's a 4-3 end) he could be productive.
Thoughts?"Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: Do we make another move?
i think we bring in a CB if none of the guys we have after top 4 are working out. also agree on OLB/pass rusher.
the cuts this year are going to be the hardest to make for any ravens teams IMO

Re: Do we make another move?
They are almost certain to find a guy in August or so and bring him in, maybe a corner or safety. That Kyle Arrington deal was a great example of how they swoop in and grab a guy and get him signed so fast the other team's heads are spinning. I suspect they'll do it again.

No doubt Oz is keeping a whether eye ;) on the unemployment line, but I suspect the primary focus of the FO right now is extending/restructuring Yanda, Tucker &/or KO.

Re: Do we make another move?
We have seen the 53 set, and then changed before opening day.
The final 53 are not set in stone, trying to remember names but not doing a good job
Prescott Burgess? Billy Bajema? Bynes, McAdoo ..... I know someone made the 53 and was off the 53 to make room before opening day, just drawing a blank currentlyat one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Re: Do we make another move?
Not to sure any of them get done. Oz said he was frustrated with the way Tucker and Yandas talks were going. Maybe they go ahead and get KO done. As he did say it'll just be on to the next one. Making the assumption KO and see what we can do after the season with Yanda. Id honestly say tag him. Than let him test FA in 2017 if wanted.
As for the OP. I can see a pass rushing specialist like maybe Umi to come in just in 3rd down nickle situations. Thus lowering Cantys snaps who actually for his age played a high number last year. We gotta get a pass rusher in that spot for the rotation.

Re: Do we make another move?
It is going to be very interesting to see whether Tucker or Yanda gets done. While I love Yanda he is going to be 32 at the start of the 2016 season. Do you give a 32 year old a 5 year $40 million deal with at least $20 million guaranteed. I don't and I don't think Ozzie will either. I think he signs K.O. and sees Urschel as Yanda's replacement. As for Tucker the rule change for extra points is going to up his price. They may have to use the franchise tag on him next year if they can't get a deal done. I think it will take at least a 5 year/$22 million deal to get him signed with half of that guaranteed. I believe Bailey and Janakowski are the 2 highest paid kickers. I would take Tucker over both of them

Re: Do we make another move?
I think that you still pay Yanda, because:
1.) Offensive Linemen can remain highly productive in older ages than other positions.
2.) His leadership in the locker room
3.) He needs to play his entire career as a Raven
4.) He is without question the best Guard in the game and arguably the best offensive lineman in the game, who can still play at a high level when moved to Tackle. Re: Do we make another move?
You cant hand him a 5 year contract though. And you cant make him the highest paid G in the game. If thats what he really wants than you have to let him walk. Honestly you tag him, whats the G tag worth right now?
This has to be a business decision and not a personal one.

Re: Do we make another move?
? Was looking at it and it is seperate. BUT its 11M which is insane. So changing my opinion. Lol.
He's 32. Ben Grubbs at 31 signed a 2 year deal for 10M. The G from the Saints, having a brain fart, is 30 and signed a 3 yr 20M deal. Those are both in the top 10 and guys over 30 and recent deals. The rest were all younger guys so not relevant. Even right now his cap hit is top 5. Cant Imagine what he wants vs what the Ravens are offering. Given his age and all Id say his " worth " would be between those 2. A 3 year 20M with half guarnteed. Hes living on being rated a top 10 G last year. But at this age it could drop off instantly. And even with that pay hell still be in the top 5 of pay.
