Yes, I know you mean Pitta :p
Hilarious. Henceforth every Baltimore white tight end shall be dubbed Heap.

Contrary to the BR.com observations, his NFL.com draft profile has Carter listed at 5-10, which I feel much better about.

My mistake - Freudian slip. I meant PITTA.

They're still going to have a tight end/receivers number problem is my "Heap/Pitta" clone posts.

I'm totally on board with this, but they should be allowed to keep their first name. So someone give Maxx Heap his 86 jersey!

I think DeAndre Carter makes the team. We need a kick/punt returner. Campanaro is in some ways his direct competition but that doesn't mean they both can't make it. Also keep in mind Camp was a 7th round draft pick and he was injury prone. He is not a 100% lock.

That's the only place I've seen at 5-10 and he didn't attend the combine so I'm guess they're going off whatever the school website says. Everywhere else it's been 5-8.

Whitman is one of the SPARQ guys

    Zach Whitman
    ‏@zjwhitman
Baltimore had the best UDFA class by a distance -- Nick Easton, DeAndre Carter, Julian Wilson, Cam Worthy, and more.
    Also SPARQ Ratings

Perriman comes in at # 4 in the SPARQ ratings, DeAndre Carter #5 and Darren Waller #21.

    More on Carter

ESPN's Kevin Weidl writes that Sacramento State senior WR DeAndre Carter "stole the show during the week of practices at the NFLPA Bowl."

"He displayed nice tempo, spatial awareness, and he burst out of his cuts with his routes while also showing quick hands catching the ball," Weidl wrote. "This type of natural feel working from slot gives Carter a shot at overcoming his lack of ideal measureables (5-8, 193)." This past season, Carter averaged 10.1 receptions and 139.2 yards in eight league games, finishing with 99 receptions, 1,321 yards and 17 touchdowns. That performance made him a finalist for the Walter Payton Award.

    And his pro day numbers
    http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/r...320-story.html

4.43 in the 40-yard dash and had an impressive 3.80 short shuttle. His short shuttle is the fastest wide receiver time, and his 6.64 three-cone drill ranked second.

    The 5-foot-8 1/2, 192-pounder also had a 38 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-6 broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times.
Washington Post calls him 5'9" http://stats.washingtonpost.com/cfb/....asp?id=209168

NFLDraft scout calls him 5'8" http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...2015&genpos=WR

Looks like 5'8.5" is the safe bet

I think you're right. Even the Ravens player roster lists him at 5-8. If anyone can be successful at that height, it's the guy with absurd quickness who made a promise to his dying brother that he'd make it in the NFL.

Thanks for the research. Those shuttle times are impressive.

I don't think the Ravens are wed to anyone beyond Perriman and Smith. I would think Campanaro is relatively safe, being a draft pick of whom they speak highly. Marlon Brown and Kamar Aiken are essentially journeyman-type UDFAs, so even though they have some experience under their belts, that isn't going to take them far. It's a new OC in Trestman, so he has no history with those guys. If Waller and Carter prove themselves to be better, they will be on the final 53. I don't think the Ravens keep more than six WRs. Carter's advantage, everything else being equal, is that he can return kicks; I also read somewhere that he is a heck of a gunner.
