The comp pick concern for me is the 3 year deal, really would like to know the numbers

Right now I just have to assume that the FO knows it will not exceed Daniels 2.7 mil 2016 or Darian Stewart (which I haven't seen numbers for yet.)
I don't like assuming

Comp picks are based on dollars and snaps ... if Lewis wins starter slot, then we have an issue with Daniels/Stewart's snap count or maybe Pees rotates .... I have no idea

Not trying to sound like an ass, but why does the comp pick matter...? They got a starting safety who is literally leaps and bounds better than what they had last year, why worry about how it effects a potential comp pick next year?

Exactly... Christ I'm so tired about hearing comp picks. It seems like our FO only limits the FA targets to guys that won't mess up us getting the usual 3-4 extra picks/yr. Do those comp picks help... sure sometimes, but if you can find someone who can really help the team now, who gives a shit about not getting an extra 6th round pick the following year.

I love the signing and the fact the FO is doing something this early to address the safety position is boss, he's only 26 and came off a stellar season not to mention his career has been solid, he will start, Elam is done unless he some how drastically changes his play he is done, its not just the blown assignments but just the lack of fundamentals is troubling thats a mental thing.
