Re: M&T Browns Game Attendees - R-A-V-E-N-S Cheer
I saw 144 db at one point. (Jet engine is 120db) That is pretty loud. But the stadium was maybe 70% at best full of which was maybe 60% regular fans.
That was not even close to some of the loudest games I have heard.
I have been in KC and heard a playoff game there.. They are not even close to what M&T Bank volume is. That is saying something.
Not bad for a RUNNING BACK!!! Now that is funny.

Well, you see Real Fan Dan isn't a paid advertisement, and you know we've got to have those on the screen because the NFL's outrageously high ticket and food/drink prices aren't enough revenue. ;) Maybe if Dan wore a casino T-shirt, he'd be able to get some screen time. ;)

We could hear the cheer and caught a glimpse of Dan at one point, but never saw him on the jumbo tron... It definitely was a different crowd maybe too many regulars away for holiday? Liked seeing the crowd noise level on the boards though!!

Felt and looked like a Pre-Season game crowd (lot's of rookies and kids in the stands). Although we really didn't have anything to cheer about for 3 quarters this whole season at M&T has felt "off".

Re: M&T Browns Game Attendees - R-A-V-E-N-S Cheer
Agreed. I think that encouraged fans to be louder to push the number up. Put that up when the other team has the ball regularly, or maybe on just third downs and key series, but every game. I think it'll give us even more of a home field advantage. When we are getting loud, they might even put up the M&T Bank "noise record" number next to it and people may try to beat it.
By the way, did a quick Internet search on this, and the *world* record as of December 2013 was 137.6 in Seattle, and Seattle plays in a dome. We were definitely in the 130s on Sunday, and I've heard our crowd sound louder than that, subjectively speaking (They just didn't measure or display decimal readings). I think we could topple that record if we tried to, especially during a big game against the Steelers or something. Certainly, we could go for the loudest open air stadium. They say that Kansas City is the loudest open-air stadium because of acoustics, but look at the numbers in Baltimore yesterday- unless they were a little bit off, like Camden Yards' notoriously fast radar gun for tracking pitch speed.

Re: M&T Browns Game Attendees - R-A-V-E-N-S Cheer
Oh, I love the Harbaughs. I'd even have liked to have seen the Terps replace Randy Edsall with John's brother Jim (I know, fat chance. :) ). I think it would have been cool to have brothers coach my favorite NFL and college teams. And I called Jim being a good candidate to be a future coach way back when he was playing quarterback for the Ravens.
John has gotten into a disturbing pattern of going for it on 4th down in the wrong situations this year (Would have liked to have seen them kick the FG early in the game when they went for it, and, yes, I said that before they failed to convert), but that's the only "issue" I can think of with him. I think he's got elements of being a tough old-school coach (Which is a plus in my book), but is still fair and understanding with the players and understands where he can be old-school and where he has to be new school to get the best effort from the team and the best results on the field. He's a good guy in the community. And his teams win.

Seattle used to play in a dome, the Kingdome, but that was a good while ago. They play outside now...

Re: M&T Browns Game Attendees - R-A-V-E-N-S Cheer
Cool. Thanks for the correction. I almost actually typed the word "Kingdome" in my original post, but saw the article mention a different name, and figured it was either a new domed stadium or the same stadium with a new corporate name.
I guess I should know that Seattle has a new(ish) outdoor stadium. I am very focused on the Ravens pro football wise, and fantasy football of course, so I don't necessarily see a ton of NFC games, but I'm sure I've seen some Seahawks home games the last few years on TV in the playoffs and such, at least. The outdoor stadium thing must have just escaped my notice or not ingrained itself into my memory. There's not much room left for that sort of trivia up in my skull- you know, with all the rocks and stuff taking up most of the space and everything. ;)
