  1. Totally unscientific, non-specific, and anecdotal observation...

It seems that bad things always happen when Matt Elam is on the field.

    Take that Filmstudy! :p

    He makes a compelling point.

He is a one step forward, 10 steps back kind of guy.

He is about 99.5% horrible. And that is probably being generous.

What a fucking waste of a 1st rd. draft pick.

Box S's are going the way of the FB. So of course we draft one in the 1st rd.

He may go down with Boller as one of the worst first round picks we've ever made.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

At least he was pick 32...the closest 1st rd pick to the 2nd round.

    Other than that...I have nothing.

He seriously looks like he doesn't know what the hell he is doing or where the hell he is most of the time. Whenever something bad happens, 9 times out of 10, good ole #26 is visible on your TV screen or within a 10 foot radius of the play.

Ozzie hasn't drafted well for at least three years maybe more - but he does love to accumulate draft picks - he's the king of moving back and getting more picks. Its too bad those picks can't play defense.

Maybe we should stop drafting bums from Florida in the first round.

Travis Taylor is the other one that comes to mind.

Ever team has misses in the draft, it's a crap shoot. Ozzie seems to be missing more than he used to though. Next year he'll be at it again, I still have faith in him.
The most baffling to me is Author Brown. I've love to see enough of him to call him a bust.
Ozzie didn't want Forsett either, but 31 others teams felt the same way.
Elam though, is the worst one in recent memory. I've been hoping that his struggles would eventually turn into experience and confidence, but he has shown nothing to have faith in.
A tight cap and many decisions to make on the roster, we need a steady supply of young, cheap talent.

I know everyone's on the ledge this morning, but it's a bit ridiculous to make this claim when he just drafted the likely DROY in the first round, along with 7 other players that have not disappointed thus far (Jernigan, Brooks- clearly still thinking and not reacting, but the talent is obvious, Gilmore, Urban- coaches raved about him prior to injury, Taliaferro, Urschel, and Campanaro). It can go in a lot of different directions, but I'd say this class has the potential to be the Ravens third best ever, behind '96 and '08.
