    Financial requests overwhelm Smith

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/...g-family-money

Very good article about what young NFL players have to face after getting a big payday. The writer could've done a better job...he's a little long winded. But good message and made me a fan of Tyron Smith.

Well it's an article about a NFL player without the words "rape" or "abuse".

It's good to see Smith taking control of his life. That's the kind of message kids going into the league need to hear.

“Just people,” Austin said. “Everybody expects a lot of things from you as far as money. Everybody wants to be around you. My phone doesn’t stop ringing now. It feels like they’re counting my bank account now. So that’s probably the hardest thing for me right now, just people.

“I’ve got a lot of cousins now. The whole (city of) Baltimore is my cousin now. We’re going to just try to keep focused and let my mother and all of them handle it.”

I remember a similar story from Tavon Austin who was drafted 8th overall to St Louis. He went to Dunbar High School in East Baltimore
