Deadspin Still Digging Up Ray Rice Info: "A day after video was released, Ravens requested police report."

The Baltimore Ravens did reach out to the Atlantic City Police Department about the Ray Rice investigation—on Sept. 9, a day after TMZ published video showing the team's running back punching out his then-fiancée in a casino elevator in February. They wanted a copy of the arrest and police reports. The cops complied, sending along documents that had been made public long ago. The Ravens responded by asking for "the actual incident report." They were handed off to the Atlantic City solicitor's office, and thus concluded their formal inquiry into the cops' end of the Rice investigation.
The most relevant quote, IMO, is bolded below (emphasis mine).

(Keep in mind that there are any number of ways to ask for a video from the cops that wouldn't necessarily show up in our records sweep.)
I very much doubt the Ravens didn't see the police report and made their first request on Sept. 9, as Deadspin is insinuating. The Ravens certainly could have gotten it from the NFL or they could have made an informal call, text message, etc.

I'm ready for this story to die but the media isn't.

In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Keep it dead here on RSR, nobody cares anymore, it's over with. Ravens winning, that's all that matters now. Bring on the Colts.

I don't give a shit anymore. Right or wrong, The Ravens acted in the same manor all other 31 teams would have acted, or any company for that matter with a huge investment in a particular employee. I'm tired of the usual righteous internet-lynch mob.

Amazing how a couple weeks cures what ails ya...... I was watching the TNF game last night, the guy mentioned AP - I thought to myself "Oh ya".... and he's the best running back of our (well, "my") generation.
