Mike Glennon Not Getting Respect He Should
The Bucs stunk with Josh McCown at QB. McCown parlayed an outstanding season in Marc Trestman's brilliant offense into a lucrative deal in Tampa.
Yet, the Bucs look better with Glennon at the helm. Granted, he's not a great QB by any stretch of the imagination, but that took some serious cahones to stand tall in the pocket and find a way to win in Pittsburgh.
Why don't the Bucs commit to Glennon? It isn't like Josh McCown is getting any younger and at least you get to see an entire season with Glennon to know if you need a QB in next year's draft.

Re: Mike Glennon Not Getting Respect He Should
Just spit-balling, but sometimes with a young guy it's better to make them the starter without actually labeling them "starter" for as long as possible.
If Glennon keeps kicking ass, McCown can suffer a setback or two with his injured thumb. If Glennon throws four picks next week (or preferably the week after!) then boom, McCown's back in without destroying the youngster's confidence."Chin up, chest out."

I don't remember Lovie handling the QB situation too well in Chicago.

Re: Mike Glennon Not Getting Respect He Should
With the way Lovie has gutted that team, I wouldn't be surprised if it was as simple as he isn't Lovie's guy.

Mike Glennon Not Getting Respect He Should
Saw Lovie hugging him on the sidelines. He played well
Reverse situation in Buffalo. They're going with Kyle Orton now. I just heard a bills fan say he would be thrilled if They could end up 8-8. But what does that do for their future? They'd be 8-8 and still looking for a QB

Re: Mike Glennon Not Getting Respect He Should
Of course he's hugging him after he saved Lovie's ass.
Only Lovie Smith, and a few other defensive minded coaches that can't see the trees from the forest, could screw this up.
This idea that he has to have 'his guy', blinded him from the reality that he had Mike Glennon on a plate, right in front of him, a guy that has shown great potential last season. Instead, he talks them into giving McCown money to come in a be exposed outside of Trestman's offense, when they should have went with Glennon all along."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore
