OT- Terrance West gets 100 yards in debut
I posted a thread after his big PO game if West was a legit
pro prospect and if Ravens were interested. Everyone said yes
and we all wanted him but Cleve jumped in front of us, Piss
and Minn to get him.
After a not so great pre-season, West picked up where he left off
and gained 100 yards for 6.2 yds pr carry and almost beat Squeelers today.
He's legit alright.
DeCosta said Teliaferro was his pick after scouting him and
pimping him to Oz. After a great pre-season where he was the
league's leading rusher at one point he didn't play at all today.
Meanwhile, Towson got killed by West Va Sat night.

Re: OT- Terrance West gets 100 yards in debut
West played great. I saw that last night and West is the real deal and going to have a bright future. From everything that was released after the draft it sounds like the Ravens liked West but not as high as he ended up going to the Browns.

Re: OT- Terrance West gets 100 yards in debut
Yea but Cleve had to trade up in front of Minn, Piss and us to get him. They all needed RBs.
He didn't do so hot in pre-season Everyone said Ravens would have drafted him if there but after DeCosta's
comments, I'm not so sure.
Taliaferro was the guy they wanted all along. He had a great preseason but did't play yesterday.
It was all Pierce and Forsett who had a TD and a good game.
BTW, what happened to those tired heavy legs from college?

Now that Pierce has been benched we might see some more of Taliferro this week. He didn't have a carry but I remember 1 short pass bouncing off his hands yesterday.

I hope this speaks more to Pitt's poor run D than anything else.

Re: OT- Terrance West gets 100 yards in debut
It doesn't help that he still can't seem to visually check down more than 2 receivers. When I see 5 WRs on the line I worry that #3, #4, & #5 might get hurt being out there for no earthly reason.
I miss a hell of a lot of the action despite being midfield in the Upper Deck w/ an "All 22" view. But yesterday even I was seeing the one or 2 open (sometimes widely so) receivers on the drops and INCs. I think by this point it's clear Joe doesn't have the mental tools to effectively check through the options each pass play is supposed to offer him.
Put that tendency to "unibrow" in on 1 or 2 (at most) receivers, with the fact that he doesn't (or doesn't have time to) wait for separation means he is passing to guys who have to fight for the reception (not that they aren't perfectly able to do so) of a ball that is blazing in there like a MLB fastball
