    My New Ravens Tattoo.

Just got this finished tonight. Took two sessions of 3 hours each with about a month between sessions. This has been something I have been trying to get right for 3 years, but none of the artists I saw could get it right. Found a guy in Raleigh and he nailed it. Exactly what I wanted.

Good choice getting the shield and, more importantly, the colors of the MD flag right. I know a woman who had a similar tatt and they got the colors backwards.

But I can't help but notice the cover up job. Might want to have your artist go back over it again with a heavier hand. I can still see the face of whatever you covered up.

Lookin' good man! I have a friend who is a JETS fan. He was getting married (about 20 years ago) and wanted to tattoo his woman's name on his arm. I advised him to get a JETS tattoo instead, using the logic that he will always be a JETS fan, but women (even wives) come and go. He took my advice is now happily married to his second wife, but is still a die-hard JETS fan... Bc

Just out of curiosity, where are you seeing the underlying area? It's completely non existent. I had laser removal done on the one it covered and it was lightened considerably. Also, there was no face on the previous tattoo and zero detail on it. It was also about 1/4 the size of what
I had put over it, so that's why I'm curious where you're seeing it.

In the shield flag quarter next to the B, you can see a smiling face, also lines of a figure through the shield part. I might not have noticed it if HR didn't say anything, but once you see it, kind've curious to find out what it was :-P

I'm really not seeing what you're seeing and assuming its the same thing HR is seeing. The tattoo that was covered wasnt even where the shield is, it was where the bottom tail feathers of the bird are. It was previously a dragon that was about as non detailed as you can get. In fact, half the people who saw it had to ask what it was. It was literally the outline of a dragon shaded with black and gray to give it a marble look. Literally no detail to the dragon whatsoever. No facial features, scales, or anything. It was a pretty hideous tattoo I got as a 19 year old. There's literally no remnants whatsoever of that dragon. I had laser procedure done to it and it was very light after the procedure. The Ravens tail feathers covered it and since it was black and the dragon was black and gray but was 15 years old and had laser procedure, it was very easy to cover up. Only thing I can guess is the shield is meant to look like its part of the birds feathers and not simply placed on the ravens back. If you look closely, you can see the artist added details to the shield to make it look like the feathers are imbedded in it. But the previous tattoo was certainly well below the shield.
