Re: Ravens war room celebrate
They said they stopped fielding offers at 6 min mark. That tells me they were very comfortable taking Mosley, wanted to see if someone would WOW them for Manziel, but it never came. My guess is all the offers were relatively average and Oz decided he would rather take his #10 ranked guy than test the waters on a just okay deal.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
I posted this in another thread, but thought it would work here also:
I don't think DeCosta was saying he was #10 on their board. I think he was saying he was BPA at ten, so he would have been higher than 10 on their board, or the last player that was drafted that would have been ahead of him was Anthony Barr. I am assuming their top 8 looked very similar to Daniel Jeremiah's.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
Great video. I like that behind the scenes kind of stuff.
And people are giving Harbs crap for that?!?! Gimme a break. That was genuine and it was reciprocated by both Ozzie and Bisciotti. Studying behavior / body language was my career for the better part of 14 years prior to becoming a stay at home Dad. The embrace wasn't expected, thus the initial reaction, but it was welcomed by both Bisciotti and Ozzie, as evidenced by their willingness to touch Harbs after the embrace.
I guess some folks just feel the need to rip on Harbs any chance they get.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
I caught the tail end of an interview (I can't recall who exactly, but I think it was Kevin Byrne) where he said the Ravens were on the phone with Mosley's agent while Dallas was on the clock and told the agent they were going to take Mosley "or a tackle" depending on what Dallas did. Did anyone else hear that?
In a different interview this morning -- I know it was Byrne this time -- I heard him say that they were fielding two offers to trade out of 17 (Eric on the phone with one, Ozzie with another) but Bisciotti in particular was lobbying hard that teams would have to pay a premium to get that pick from them. He heard both guys say "that's not enough" to the offer, and at the four minute mark Ozzie announced he was calling Mosley.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
They were pretty jazzed after TRADING UP for Arthur Brown last year in the 2nd.
In two straight years we both trade up for a LB then use a 1st rd pick on a LB. That is a lot of draft capital for LBers.Last edited by bt12483; 05-09-2014 at 09:52 AM.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
makes sense to me.
didnt Ozzie say after bisciotti handed the phone to harbs..."great pick Trent, hes my fan, a chip off the old block"... who the hell was he talking about if that was the Cowboys and Jones picking right before us?
Anybody with better ears than me decipher that? 1:14 mark of the war room celebration. Theres no Gm names trent anywhere near us that i know of so maybe im off on what i heard.
its possible we were on the phone with mosley even earlier (or maybe it was after we already selected him).-JAB

Here is a Bleacher Report story from an Alabama writer that describes the countdown to the Ravens' pick of Mosley similarly.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
The Ravens are definitely getting an enthusiastic player. It's a dream job for Mosley. It's very cool to see a player who really knows the team, it's culture and history. A couple of years ago when Ryan Tannehill was drafted and didn't even know that the Chiefs weren't in his division I realized just how clueless so many of these guys are about their own team. Great to see that's not the case here.

Re: Ravens war room celebrate
Haven't seen this yet for some reason (haven't looked that hard so I apologize if it has been posted) but Mosley himself said that the Ravens told him if they were available, the Ravens would choose between him and Zack Martin at the pick. Based on that, I'd assume that the Ravens were going to take Martin if he was there, so they were probably a bit upset that he went to Dallas one pick before (which the Ravens lost on an effing coin flip). Either way, they are probably thrilled to have Mosley.
