Re: RSR 2014 NFL Mock Draft Take 2 - Draft Thread
Just a suggestion here. With 15 minutes until the deadline there are only 4 teams left without GM's and 2 of them don't even have 1st round picks. Of those teams the 1st to pick wouldn't be until 23. That's a long time until that pick. Undoubtedly between now and then guys will enter this thread who would like to participate. I suggest we leave them open for now as the draft is already underway and fill them in with new guys as we go.
There are probably no fewer than a half dozen posters who have already expressed an interest in having a 2nd team. Using a first post, first served method to fill the last remaining spots seems sort of arbitrary and kind of goes against what we are encouraging, which is max participation. I say leave whatever's left open for now and we fill in as we go. Worse case, we can always make a couple of picks by committee.
Having said all of that, if we are doubling up, I think runrayrun should get first shot at a 2nd team, as he is the one who has taken the time to organize this, twice. I'd gladly take a 2nd team too, especially after having had to sit out the 1st draft, but it's not that important to me and I really do feel we will end up with 32 participants, without losing any time in the process. With the first pick in the 2104 NFL Draft the Houston Texans select...DE Jadaveon Clowney, South Carolina
I firmly believe that the Texans will trade out of this spot or work a trade similar to the Manning-Rivers deal with Atlanta. Having said that, Clowney is an absolute freak. We all know about him, so I will spare you with my unqualified scouting. Maybe, Houston shocks the world and keeps Clowney. That is a very real possibility. But, I think if Atlanta is serious about trading up, it will be an offer that Houston can't refuse. They could take a QB at that spot or possibly land Khalil Mack and take Jimmy Garappolo or Zach Mettenberger in the second. Time will tell, but Clowney is the pick, for now.

Smart pick. Honestly I don't see anyone offering that much to trade up. Mack is too close to Clowney and none of the QBs are worth it. I see the Texans taking Clowney since Mack is not as natural in a 3-4.
