This has shades of that case with Rolando last year where he started shouting "F- the police" in a crowd...

Also, interesting to compare this with the case of Ray Rice. Another big name player who would be tough to cut (monetary wise), and in this case, a repeat offender now.

Not saying he's necessarily guilty here, but certainly the run ins with the law have to be concerning to Baalke and Jim Harbaugh.

sounds like he was agitated about being arrested so he said 'yeah I have a bomb' or something like that... not smart but not a big deal IMO

Considering Aldon Smith's legal history, I'd say yeah it is a big deal for him.

According to Sgt. Ortiz, Smith was going through screening when he asked the TSA agent, “Are you going to search me further?”

Smith was told, “That’s not necessary,” according to Sgt. Ortiz.

Then, Smith responded, according to Sgt. Ortiz, “Why not? I have a bomb.”

I could easily see that being misheard from the TSA agent. Unless there were multiple witnesses that overheard that, very flimsy evidence to convict him. The damning thing about this is being uncooperative with the police at the gate.

Still, stupid to mutter the word bomb or anything SOUNDING like it to a TSA agent.

It's the off season and players like this need to be chaperoned. Smith has problems and it has shown up these last years. Must be tough for an owner who is paying big bucks, see a player get stupid. On a side note, if they save any money cutting smith. I'm sure jimmy harbaugh will take it on his new (whenever) contract. LOL
