Just my $.02 but I think it should be one thread. Bouncing between threads just to read commentary seems awkward .....

    Pick coming shortly ....

It is. I remember last year it sucked, but the year before that we did one and it was really hard to track all of the picks to see who picked who and who was available. Last year seemed to work better than the year before

Not to keep cluttering this up, but probably a good idea to link the discussion thread in the first post, so people can click over there.

Re: RSR 2014 NFL Mock Draft - Picks Thread

Goodell walks out to a chorus of boos from the ever so classy numerous Jets fans that invade Radio City Music Hall ....

Roger: "Good evening and welcome to the 2014 NFL Draft. The Texans are on the clock"

... Scene cuts to Rick Smith furiously shuffling papers while on his cell phone and looking at emails from a 2nd iPhone. What most folks outside of Houston don't know is that he's really on a sex chat line, sending sext's to his 20 yr old side piece, all the while looking for that post-it note that Bob McNair left on his desk, telling him who to pick. Unable to locate the post-it, Smith hands in the teams selection, hoping he got it right ....

Roger: "With the first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select, Blake Bortels, Quarterback, University of Central Florida"

ESPN cuts to Johnny Football's house where he's seen punching his pet cat in the face on live TV. Network cuts to a quick commercial ...

Ok, now in all seriousness, I think the Texans do trade back a little as to not draft Bortles with their number one pick. But since we're not doing trades here, I went with who I think they pick when they trade back to about 5th or so.

Johnny Football pissed off a lot of people in Houston this last season. He was never going to look bad in the mind of Aggie fans, but to everyone else, including the higher ups in the Texans organization, he showed his true colors this past year with all of his boorish, frat boy antics.

McNair wants a winner, but he wants to do it with class. He's old school like that and doesn't feel, IMO, that Manziel fits the bill. He will pass up a guaranteed seat filler in Manziel to get someone who is more in line with his image of what a QB ought to be -- big, tall, great arm and a good dude off the field. He's a project. No doubt about it. But with Keenum and Fitzpatrick acting as mentors, he will be ready late third of the season at the earliest.

I'm going to scrap the discussion thread and just periodically post an updated list of the draft board - every 5 picks or so. So all discussion can happen in this thread

With the second pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select, Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback, University of Louisville.

Unlike GM Les Sneed and coach Jeff Fisher, I’d rather protect my job than protect my credibility. Bradford is not the answer, so I’m bringing in a guy who I think will be the answer for the next 10-15 years.

Interesting pick to say the least. But hey, I guess BPR feels the new rams brass will want their own guy under center after four years of the failed Sam Bradford experiment
