    LMAO!

I wish him the best in life, but football clearly...and was clear 2 years into his career in Oakland was not his thing.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Let's review Rolando McClain's tenure with Ravens: Less than 2 wks after he signs with them, he's arrested for 3rd time in little over a yr
    Jeff Zrebiec ‏@jeffzrebiecsun 12m
About three weeks after that, he surprisingly retires for first time. After spending a year away, he vows he wants to return to NFL.
    Jeff Zrebiec ‏@jeffzrebiecsun 11m
He meets with Ozzie, bombs his workout a couple of wks later, and then tells ESPN he's retiring about 4 days after he's added to roster

I'm sure next year when he says he wants to play again...

I mean, it was way too fucking easy to read this guy.

But watch, next year or in 2 years, this guy will say he wants to play again, and we'll hear the same crap and go through this same BS again with people thinking this guy is a football player and would ever help this team.

Fine by me...... now hopefully we can move on from this whole soap opera. I do hope that he works out what ever demons or issues hes dealing with though.
They hate us..... but they want to BE us. (.... or at least poach all our players/coaches/FO people!)

you do bring up an interesting scenario. Do they cut him loose now to not be bothered with him again or once again add him to the reserve/retired list and retain his rights for the future. I dont think theres any penalty or harm in keeping him so they "get dibs" if he ever decides to unretire again. Not saying theyd be interested, or anybody would but theres really no reason to outright cut him...still. Frankly I think hes made his mind up. Whether that was not "loving" football or whatever reason, I dont expect to hear about him wanting to play again and if we do, I doubt any NFL team would take him serious, including us. I do think theyll retain his rights though.

Re: Is Rolando McClain Coming Back or Not?

    I had no problem:

    1. Giving him his initial chance
    2. Giving him a chance to get his life together
    3. Even giving him more chance to get back into shape

But now, we should close the book. After making such a deal about getting back to football, failing his physical essentially, then immediately deciding he's done with football...Maybe he truly is, but if he's not, I think he's shown us he isn't willing to work hard to get back.

I seriously doubt any other team will give him a chance after this either...
