Re: FanSpeak Mock Draft Simulator
Agreed with this. Having that extra 3rd as proposed by landshark would allow a pretty big jump in the 2nd round. Value wise:
Our 2nd: 420 points
Pick #86 (received from the Eagles): 160
Value of 580 = Pick 33...If we packaged those two together we could move to the top of the 2nd round.
Obviously this is completely hypothetical, but you can definitely see how trading down to gain some value can be very helpful in other rounds."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: FanSpeak Mock Draft Simulator
Thats a pretty addictive simulator. I wish they had more big boards to base it off of. I could toy with that thing for hours.

Okay, so this is what I came up with the most recent time I drafted. I could buy into this, and it might not be that far-fetched.

Re: FanSpeak Mock Draft Simulator
Hmmm...I'm going to look at worst-case-scenario (reality ?) :
(1) Pryor (FS)
(2) Cyrus K. (OT)
(3a) Jean-Baptiste (CB)
(3b) Moncrief (WR)
Two questions :
(1) Is this awful ?
(2) Is this realistic?

Re: FanSpeak Mock Draft Simulator
(1) No
(2) Yes
If we got Jean-Baptiste and Moncrief in the 3rd that would be beautiful. I love Pryor a lot, but he might be a reach at 17. If we could trade down with the Eagles like someone (sorry on my phone and can't see) suggested and grab Pryor at 22 that would be optimal. I think Cyrus just sucks...would rather have Yankey or Swanson.

A 4 round mock draft. Justin Gilbert was on the board at 17, and there was no where I was gonna pass up on him. Jordan Matthews was on the board in the 2nd rd, but so was Stephon Tuitt, who I just could not pass up on. Tuitt would be an absolute steal in the 2nd, he has Calais Campbell type upside. He could start from day 1 replacing Art Jones, and perhaps offer an upgrade with his freakish size and athleticism.
I think my two 3rd rders are absolute steals too. Moncrief could turn out to be a very good receiver in this league, and may even contribute from day 1. Carlos Hyde, is IMO, one of the few backs from this class who I think has potential to be an every down feature back, we need a back and a WR, so at the very least, the 3rd rd offers strong depth players for us. The 4th rd was more about depth on the line, a RT who high upside who could compete with Wagner, and a big nasty blocking TE, who has upside as a pass catcher too. Kubiak's offense ideally requires three decent TEs. In Houston, he had Owen Daniels, Garret Grahame, and Dressen, all three turned out to be very good players.
The only issue with this draft is that a true FS was not obtained. However, after the draft, there is still the option of either trading, or signing a guy like Kerry Rhodes, I'm also not going to give up on the Omar Brown story either. There is always the other option of playing Gilbert at FS to start his career, although that may not be of the best interests when you take a corner that high.

Re: FanSpeak Mock Draft Simulator
Okay, using the Walter Football board (never use the Optimum Scouting, it's a joke), I ended up with a draft that would be pretty sick, IMO:
17. Justin Gilbert (CB, Oklahoma State)
48. Jimmy Ward (S, Northern Illinois)
79. Cody Latimer (WR, Indiana)
99. Antonio Richardson (OT, Tennessee)
134. Terrance West (RB, Towson)
138. Khairi Fortt (ILB, California)
175. Taylor Hart (DE, Oregon)
194. Aaron Colvin (CB, Oklahoma)
