FUNNY: Why Steelers fans are sad to see Oher leave Baltimore

Steelers fans hate to see Oher leave the Ravens and here’s a humorous excerpt from a blog titled, Departure of Michael Oher From Ravens Will Hurt Steelers Pass Rush, which chronicles a few Oher encounters with the Steelers.

There are too many to list, but perhaps his finest season came in 2010, a year in which Oher did as much as any Steeler to will them toward the Super Bowl.

Down by 4 with precious few minutes remaining, Oher pretended he couldn’t see Polamalu line up just off his shoulder, and the subsequent play resulted in a strip sack , and ultimately the Steelers earning a bye in the first round of the play-offs.

Later in the season, before the Steelers and Ravens squared off in the play-offs, Oher and Harrison agreed that Harrison should completely and utterly dominate Oher all game long. It was this kind of selfless sacrificing that will make Oher go down as one of the most humble greats to play the game.

It would not be too bold to say that, on that day, an everlasting bond was formed between Harrison and Oher. This was evident during the Steelers and Ravens 2012 matchup in Baltimore. Just when the Steelers needed it most Oher allowed his old friend through for the strip sack, a game changing play that allowed Charlie Batch to be the hero we all knew he could be. In a stroke of poetic justice, this just happened to be Harrison’s last ever strip sack in the black and gold, and in the company of friends he has said there was no other left tackle he would rather have shared it with.

So do Ravens fans on this very board.

NICKS ISN'T AS GOOD A PLAYER AS OHER. ERIC DE COSTA TO NEST 1 A WEEK AFTER OHER WAS DRAFTED

Nicks hasn't been very good either. The best he could do is get a 1 year prove it deal. Oher actually did better contract wise. Both have been disappointing and the teams that drafted them didn't try hard to get them back. DeCosta wasn't really wrong in that statement.

I actually think that Oher was secretly drafted by the stillers.

Oher can join O'Neil Cousins in the Ravens O Line Hall of Shame (and they won't be alone).

On second thought, that's way too harsh. At his best, Oher was serviceable. Cousins had no best.

Cousins is on his own level of being terrible.

Thanks for proving my point. I knew someone would try to find a silver lining - the length of contracts-lol, but NIcks helped get NY to SB and they went to him in the end plus several big games before. He just missed a thousand yards as a rookie and then had 2 years of 1000 and 1100 yds before injured when Joe only had Mason. Joe needed weapons and Nicks would have been better than Oher here. Fans here wanted Ravens to sign him in this off season before he signed.

Nicks just missed 900 yds this season when Joe only had Torrey and Nicks has a career 4622 yards. Meanwhile RotorWorld ranked Oher near the bottom as a run blocker and at the very bottom in pass blocking allowing all those sacks. Let's say Indy fans aren't as upset getting Nicks as Tenn fans are with Oher. I posted a lot of their comments. Luck sure is glad to have him as Joe would have been in 09.

DeCosta was as wrong with Oher as he was Cody and a bunch of others.

Heh, I remember when Oneil Cousins had like one halfway decent game vs the Steelers, and we all had hope he was going to end up this amazing OT and it probably coasted him for 2 years with us.

Oher has the same number of Pro Bowls, starts, and rings as Nicks.

Oher also got a much better contract on the same open market.

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Is DeCosta the one responsible for the Kindle, Dickson, Kindle and Oher picks? If so, the thought of him taking over for Ozzie gives me the chills.
