Re: Chris Clemmons
We've been spoiled for the past six or seven years, because the Ravens have been so good that all of their needs could be addressed within one offseason, and Ozzie would still field a playoff contending team. Maybe we should come to terms with the fact that it's going to take more than one offseason to fill all of the holes on our roster.

Re: Chris Clemmons
We have some ascending d-line talent in Tyson, Lewis-Moore and Larsen. Of course, I won't be upset if we make a run at a guy like Clemmons, but I think some of the young players we have are ready to step in. And how about Aaron Donald from Pitt in the first round this year??? I would take him in a heartbeat.

Re: Chris Clemmons
Not a released free agent. Ozzie looks at them 1st. The FS from Atlanta was released. He is hoping some others will follow.

Re: Chris Clemmons
This if PFF, so take it with a grain of salt, but Clemons was the 4th rated FA Safety, ranked #3 in coverage behind Whitner and Byrd. He's not a ballhawk, but he covers well enough to not allow a lot of catches.
DeCoud seems like more of a boom or bust type prospect. He has higher accolades than Clemons, but last year he played MUCH worse than Clemons did. The question is, was last year an anomaly, or was that the new trend for DeCoud?
To me, DeCoud seems like another Huff like signing. You are banking on him regaining form from a few years back. He'll be cheap, but risky in that he may end up another bust signing if he plays like he did last year..

“When I think of a Baltimore Raven - we go in there, we take your lunch box, we take your sandwich, we take your juice box, we take your applesauce, and we take your spork and we break it. And we leave you with an empty lunch. That’s the Baltimore Raven way.” - Steve Smith Sr.
Call me a Special Teams coach again. I dare you! I double dare you, MFer!

Of the two, DeCoud has the higher ceiling but also the lower floor. I would prefer the Ravens to go with the safe, solid player in Clemons and let Webb, Smith and Elam be the playmakers in the secondary.

Re: Chris Clemmons
Something tells me we are going to target Jimmie Ward in this draft, much like we did last year with Elam.
