If the answer is "no", than other than making a statement about hoping for the day when issues like these can be solved without the use of force and violence*, that should be the extent of our involvement.

I am not a fan of "economic sanctions" because they really hurt the common citizen (which in turn sows hatred and resentment back at the US) and rarely causes those in power to alter their actions.

*Such statements would carry much more credibility if the US actually practiced what we preached.

If he's trying to start another cold war it is a direct threat. You were happy
when Gorby let Germany re-unite and pulled out of the Balkins, etc. It's an international game of chess like Condi Rice said so it is a threat. As I posted above Ukranians are suffering now with disruptions in food and services
    when they were OK before.

That's not because of sanctions which hasn't started yet. It's because of Putin throwing his weight around knowing the US will do nothing. People like you said it was none of our business when Japan invaded China or when Germany invaded Poland. Nobody here complained until it became a direct threat at Pearl Harbor.

Sanctions have been working in Iran who is trying to destroy Israel by building nukes and that is a direct threat on us as well because we defend them.

BTW, we just sent Ukrane $1B in aid and a lot of people are asking where it came
from when we're supposed to be broke - like $17T broke? More funny money when OBY pressed a button and printed a billion bucks off.
