Re: Champ Bailey - New Free Safety?

I have to agree...the old teaching an old dog new tricks thing. While some have succeeded, most haven't. Especially at his age.

I would say that if he is willing to come in at a very low price, almost league minimum.....worth a risk. But otherwise......not interested. Maybe he can call Rex Ryan. Rex always likes risks

    It should be considered.

After going to the Jets, Ed Reed improved a lot - he had 3 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, and 1 tackle for a loss in 7 games. Charles Woodson also played pretty solidly in Oakland this past year.

Champ Bailey I think is still in football shape, and obviously a master of the game. I think he'd be a great veteran presence for the secondary.

    I don't see it.

He was getting torched in 2011. Torrey (among many others) made him look like a rookie in 2012 and last season, he forgot how to tackle.

    He's done.

The Jets aren't even looking to resign Reed. You can't just look at a stat sheet. You need to see the games. That's why were also not considering bringing back Ed Reed.

We've all seen Bailey get burned for years now. There comes a point where even future Hall of Fame players are done and Champ Bailey is clearly there.

Why does this board reference Ricky Proehl at numerous times? Just curious.

I think he was before my time.
