Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
I haven't "changed" anything. And you certainly haven't shown any example of me "changing" anything.
There are obviously varying levels of persecution, bigotry, offensiveness of jokes, and underlying truths that lead to stereotypes. I am surprised one would attempt to argue otherwise, quite frankly.
And gays aren't in the same universe of victimization as Jews or blacks.
And jokes about Asians being math geeks and gays being effeminate, which rely on harmless fact-based observation, are not in the same universe as "jokes" about Jews being greedy or blacks liking watermelon or chicken, which do not rely on fact-based observation, and more importantly were stereotypes manufactured (by racists) and used specifically to denigrate.
I hope that clears up the confusion.Last edited by Haloti92; 02-27-2014 at 03:17 PM.

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
No one asked, and I am not sure why they would. "How many?" Huh?
And of course I did mention the relative truthfulness of those other stereotypes, and more importantly how they were (and by whom) they were derived, e.g. blacks liking watermelons.
It is as if people mistakenly believe that I said if a stereotype is true it means it cannot be offensive.
