Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
That is the saddest thing in all of this. What I do in my bedroom, no on is interested in. If I were gay I would need to hide it or "control the message" - that sucks.
Had he "come out" to make a point or for attention, I'd be like "shut up, who cares", but the fact he has to do it to get a head of rumors really stinks.

Michael Sam was not in my top 100 sr #NFL prospects. Player w/out position. Can't play in space, not big enough to play w hand on ground

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
"A lot" is a two word expression denoting a great deal or greatly, as in "I like sunshine a lot." "Alot" is a lovable imaginary grammar monster. You can love a lot; you can love an alot; you can love alots a lot; but they are not the same thing.

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
I have a feeling its going to a lot less of a story than some thought it would be. he doesnt seem to be making a big deal about it. I wish him luck. It will probably be more of a story if he goes UDFA now, but i have a feeling some team will take him in the mid to later rounds same as they would have.

As long as whatever he is doing is consensual, and not infringing on anyone else's freedoms, who cares?
I am more annoyed at the perceived implication in the media (at least perceived by me) that this is an "issue" about which I should care very, very deeply (with furrowed brow).Last edited by JohnBKistler; 02-11-2014 at 01:47 PM.

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
Why would you need an ID?
Or is Gay-dar not a real thing?
Now for real:
1. I think that his draft position will basically be unchanged. Three reasons for thinking this are: A. The Bulk of the teams will slightly lower his grade, as he might be a bit of a distraction in camp. B. Some teams will drop him off their board completely for whatever reasons. C. I see a very good chance that a few teams might raise his stock dramatically as an effort to reach a niche of their fan base. A team that doesn't particularly draft well might take him a round or even two earlier then they otherwise feel they "should" in an effort to get headlines and make inroads into their fan base... JAX randomly strikes me as a place this might be true.
Now, for the Ravens, he seems like he could be a quite decent Pass-rush specialist, who could perhaps grow into an every-down weak side 3-4 OLB'er. To me, that is the type of player we might start to look at around the 3rd comp level(if we have one) and certainly by the 4th-Comp area.

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
The south has a stereotype of being racist and against gay marriage, that includes Texas, I was just tapping into that stereotype. I live in Oklahoma City and make frequent trips to Texas and it isn't as acceptable as other states. I do not see how that makes me a bigot and I take offense to that. I said I'm rooting for the kid to succeed

Re: BREAKING: Michael Sam is gay
I guess I'm still confused how what I said was bigoted? Because your sig is in one of the cities I mentioned your angry? I'm not a bigot or racist at all. I'm glad to see your as closed minded as others if you can't see my point. Yea there are bigots everywhere, but the south does have that stereotype and I used it. If Mississippi had a pro team I would of said them, i was simply saying it would be good for the kid to go there and become a star because maybe he would invoke some tolerance. But you just want to attack people
