Re: RAVENS to dump Sam KOCH?
Actually Koch had one of his better years statistically. He had some ugly punts but overall he did NOT have a bad year. Actually they can save 1.1 mil by releasing him. IMO he's back this year.

Re: RAVENS to dump Sam KOCH?
The only thing I'd say about Koch is that cutting him apparently will only save about 1.6 mil. He has two years left on his deal, with 1.2 mil in bonus money remaining, and a base salary of 2.2 mil. So, unless we designate him a post-June 1st cut, all 1.2 Mil will be dead money this year.
Doesn't mean we won't do it, but it's not a huge savings. Also, discount that 1.6 mil with whatever a new punter will cost. If a rookie/UDFA, it'll be nothing. But if we look for a vet of some sort, only save about 400-600k..

Didn't Tuck bang his head and get a concussion going after the return guy vs the Squeelers.
Kyle Richardson shanked 4 punts vs Minn on a freezing night years ago and was released at the end of the season. So there's old Bruce Burgundy on the radio saying he couldn't understand why he was cut.

Re: RAVENS to dump Sam KOCH?
I love when they do trick plays with Sam. He has scored two rushing TDs. One vs Dallas in 08 and the other vs Oakland. Those guys tried to overload one side to block the kick and Sam made them pay. I remember he also threw a first down pass to Cary Williams on a fake punt, cant remember what game that was. Sam has been one of my favorite Ravens for a while, I will be sad to see him go but business is business.

Re: RAVENS to dump Sam KOCH?
Technically, I think Sam has one rushing TD, one rushing 2 pt conversion.
Again though, I'm sure a younger, cheaper punter can do similar as well. Sam is a nice guy, but it's a business..
