No Luck isn't elite. I doubt he ever will be. 4 interceptions tonight. Can't control the game like Peyton Manning. Can't fill his shoes and the pressure of following Manning may get to him. Luck isn't Manning, he isn't Elway. He was an excellent college QB but he doesn't seem to have what it takes in the playoffs. One and out last year, a fluke win against KC this year then getting blown out by New England.

I don't want Luck to be elite as long as he plays for the Colts and the Irsays.

Why? Andrew Luck is doing nothing but making a living, putting food on his table. You can hate the Irsay's, buy why at Luck's expense?

I would like Luck if he were a Raven. I don't hate him but I sure don't like him, playing for the Colts. Bob Irsay was despicable in his actions and his son still owns the team.

It made me angry that the Colts had years of winning with Peyton Manning. Then he gets injured and for one year the Colts were horrible and get the first draft pick, so they transition from one franchise QB to another with only one year break with a below average QB. Other teams suffer for years with mediocre QB's.

So I am definitely rooting against Luck being able to fill Peyton Manning's shoes. From what I have seen so far the only thing they have in common is choking in the playoffs. Manning was a far better regular season QB than Luck, far better at the short pass, far better at reading defenses. Manning is perhaps the best ever at reading defenses.

The only things I see that Luck can do better than Manning is throw the long ball, stay up after being hit, and run with the ball. Not enough. And I think the pressure of not being Peyton Manning, and failing in the playoffs will likely begin to build in Indianapolis.

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 15m

After leading 49ers to victory in GB, Colin Kaepernick has two postseason road wins - one more than Joe Montana and Steve Young combined.

That's not saying much because Montana was too busy gaining home field advantage on his way to winning 3 championships.

I agree with your points, they are well stated and accurate. I just thought it odd that you did not like him just because he is a Colt.

As for filling Manning's shoes, I don't think anybody can do that. Luck is a physical player with an obvious physical and mental presence on the field. And I agree, he can wing the ball down the field. With a few more years under his belt, and some fine tuning of the roster, the Colts will be a mainstay division leader.

As for this year, he lost to the Patriots, who have arguable one of the best QB's and HC's in history. The stats bear that out; Brady threw for 0 TD's but the Pats won big. That is game planning to the extreme.

No shit! The guy has been in the NFL for two years. Letz not forget what Joe looked like early in his career. He is proof positive that guys can AND do improve.

I think he's among the most overrated players in the NFL right now given how analysts and whatnot talk about him, but I have no doubt that he's going to continue his development into a top tier QB.

Andrew Luck is a far better quarterback than Tom Brady.

Andrew Luck has to actually make passes that high school quarterbacks don't make consistently. Brady doesn't.

Brady is the king of standing in a wide open pocket for 4 seconds before making a LASER 5 yard throw to a wide open receiver who then gets 5-51 yards after the catch.
