Exactly. Unless this team sees the light and starts letting Joe have some easy completions, quick outs, quick hitters, he is going to be tasked - on every single passing play for the rest of his life - with having to survey the field, make reads, go through progressions, and wait for people to be open.

Unless the Ravens modernize their passing game, they need 5 blocks of granite up there. Joe is tough but he won't last forever they way they're going. They pay him too much money to let him get hit as much as he does.

They can either start getting the ball out of his hands faster, or they can pour $50 million into the O line. It's up to them.

    Monroe/Osemele/Mack/Yanda/Wagner

Deal with that. I could run behind that line. I could stand back there and level up in my RPGs behind that line.
I think almost everyone on here would like that line.
    Of course, that's the ideal.
Now, the line don't look so great if KO is not healthy. The line doesn't look so great if Yanda is not healthy.
Then the question arises about what the rest of the team looks like with cost of signing Mack and Monroe.

A look at guys who had extended playing time at center under Juan Castillo's coaching in Philadelphia. A couple of notes. Everitt is a former Raven, who we all remember. Fraley and Cole were undrafted. McGlynn was a tackle at Pittsburgh, and was converted to a guard and then center. Each guy definitely gives credence to Ozzie's focus of getting bigger in the middle.

Finally, here are two articles quoting Jermane Mayberry and Hank Fraley and their affinity for Castillo.

    Steve Everitt - 6'5'' 315lbs. ('98-'99)
    Hank Fraley - 6'2" 315lbs. ('00-'05)
    Jamaal Jackson - 6'4 330lbs. ('05-'10)
    Nick Cole - 6'0'' 350lbs. ('06-'10)
    Mike McGlynn - 6'4'' 325lbs. (08'-'10)

Kamaal Jackson was a very good player.

The only thing I remember about Everitt with the Ravens was when he wore that Browns bandana. Not my favorite player.

With a lot of oline changes sure to come this year; this year has to be a critical year to decide which scheme to run and what personnel we need to run it.
