A play from the Jets that the Ravens should use

Twice this year the Jets used 290-pound Sheldon Richardson in goal line situations and both times it's resulted in touchdowns. The Ravens would've done just a slight bit better on those goal-line situations if they would've simply pulled out 212-pound Ray Rice or 200-pound Bernard Pierce and inserted 317-pound Chris Canty, or 340-pound Terrence Cody, or 355-pound Brandon Williams, or 315-pound DeAngelo Tyson, or 340-pound Haloti Ngata. Those guys wouldn't be as easy to stuff and the Ravens should definitely use them for that in the future.

I remember Terrence Cody used to do this for Alabama, they tried it once in pre-season his rookie year and resulted in an offsides on Cody. Never was considered again.

I believe Ngata was used in the past on the O side of the ball. He went out with an ankle injury once and they nixed the idea after that.

Both of those things are not worth nixing the idea especially with our depth at DT.

He was brought in as a blocker mostly. I think the OP is talking about one of these guys CARRYING the ball.

Knowing our luck, they'd be tackled in the backfield for a loss of 1 anyway.

no no you have it all wrong. when they need a foot, Ravens will put Flacco in the shotgun with a back behind him so when he hands it off, they're 6 yds deep. It's brilliant!
