Re: 16th pick in the draft...
If we get 16, trading back from 16 could get us picks 31/50 or 32/49. Wherein we would have back-to-back picks at 48+49 in rd. 2, plus the late 1st.
Or we could drop just 6-10 spots back and pick up a late 2nd, early 3rd.
But if a primetime guy is there at 16, I don't want to trade back.

It'll be interesting to see if there is any talk about Tomlin's trip attempt this week. I'm assuming when it would happen and with this whole draft situation the NFL has been given the perfect opportunity to remedy it.

Re: 16th pick in the draft...
Screw trading back... We need true impact blue chip players. Do we really need more Matt Elam types (potentially solid but nothing spectacular in a few years)? This team's superstar talent really isn't that great right now and moving forward, pretty bad, with a few of the franchise players becoming too old (or gone).
Trade up if anything.

Re: 16th pick in the draft...
This might be the year to trade down and stockpile on cheap players with our tricky cap situation plus slim depth in the secondary, OL, WR, and TE.
But you gotta believe Ozzie will pull the trigger on a blue chipper if he's there

Re: 16th pick in the draft...
Exactly, all this trading back shit has fucked over this roster. Kindle/Cody looked smart back then, but now that Kindle is out of the league and Cody could/should be considered a bust. Then there's the trade down where we got Courtney Upshaw (currently a reserve player) where we could've gotten Alshon Jeffery. Instead of getting impact players, we've got average "nice players"
