I really don't understand why some of you continue to go back to the playoffs last year and wonder why the offense isn't the same.
-traded #1 WR for a 6th round pick
-ripple effect of trade results in #2 and #3 receivers becoming #1 and #2 receivers, roles they aren't suited for
-continued ripple effect results in guys like Brown and Doss playing significant roles
-HoF caliber C retired
-replace HoF caliber C with a guy who incapable of playing the position at an NFL level
-starting LG injured, replaced with a guy who is terrible
-starting LT plays horribly, replaced with guy who is an improvement, but hardly great
-starting TE gets hurt, misses most of the year, replaced with a guy who is horrible and a guy who is too old to be effective
Not to mention the resulting effect on the run game combined with Rice's apparent aging.
Why is it so hard to understand why this offense isn't the same as it was in the playoffs? It's not all Caldwell, easy as it is to blame him.back on twitter
