Re: Can someone intelligently explain how we lost 41-7 at home to the Patriots?

Our horrible gameplan and playcalling would have lost even with a healthy Flacco. Our coaching staff lowers our odds of winning any given game by about 25%.

Sometimes you just have to go with Occam's razor. Now whether theyre 34 points better than us is another thing.
They hate us..... but they want to BE us. (.... or at least poach all our players/coaches/FO people!)

That's possible but this offense has had it's issues all year so I don't think we can use this as an excuse. Don't forget that during win streak TDs were still hard to come by and we've only scored 1 TD in our last 8 quarters.

Well, two TDs were garbage time with our even MORE inept backups. Still, they all count for 7.....

This team simply mailed it in, that's all! Bisciotti should be ashamed of the way his product performed tonight...oh, and btw, how does Bellichek get away with those four fake injury timeouts tonight in an obvious effort to slow down our momentum. That is totally bush, not that it caused us to lose, certainly; we took care of that ourselves!

I noticed that too. It seems that every time the Ravens made a play on offense, there was an "injured" patriot on the ground. They must really be careful with this, or the NFL will turn into soccer. They will soon need to start giving yellow and red cards to players faking injuries.

About the score, it was 20-7 midway through the second half. After the turnover on downs, the wheels fell off, it happens in the NFL. There's no way that this Patriots team is 41-7 better than the Ravens.

We're mediocre. We are not elite this year. Today was a reality check. We faught come from behind wins against mediocre teams in the last four games. But against good and not even a great NE team, we got exposed. Flacco was off beyond his knee, our receivers were vanilla and our O-line should be in the dictionary for the term, "Games are won and lost in the trenches" Our Defense provided no pass rush (Suggs is overpaid). Our run defense over-pursued like fish on the line and the refs were pulled out of a retirement home.

Just...how did it make zero sense? Look at their previous games...they had issues scoring for the previous four weeks...all season really, but look at the output during the win streak...

1 TD, 4 FG against Jets
1 TD, 5 FG against Steelers
1 TD through 3Q's against the Vikings
    6 FGs against the Lions

Winning like that is not sustainable in today's NFL. I don't see where the result today was really that surprising with how things have been going with this offense.

The consequence of dumping Boldin is blatantly obvious: Ravens held to only 4 TDs in 5 games --the "better" part of our season.

Picking on Harbaugh for coaching stupidity misses the mark ... why does Ozzie get a free pass from the fans on this board for this huge front office blunder?
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

^ This. The ravens moved the ball up & down the feild but then then get on the goaline or short yardage and they try & run the ball See the Packers game. The end of the Bears game. tonight. It Finally took Flacco on a dive to score on the 2nd goaline series in the 4th. But yes the Pats punched us in the mouth like the Ravens did to Megatron. The Pats ran the ball down our throats. No pass rush and the Ravens let the only threat catch balls in key spots (Edelman)

They did seem to be pushing the run game too long even when down. I just think we need realize we should be a pass 1st team. Joe gets on a roll & we move the ball, it's been mentioned how a couple of Pat's injuries slowed drives a couple of times. It also seems at times they like to use Pierce too much. I also think that got out coached

Letting Boldin go is on Ozzie but I think we used that money better for other missing parts. I think Brown has done a fine job. Play calling in Red Zone & short yardage has been an issue & that's on Harbs & his staff. The Castillio changes on the O-line. The failure of the D in key spots in the 4th quarter is Pees. Bringing Ryan Wagner in on the 1st play signals run, that kind of stuff. The ravens have weapons but they are used wrong. the Play vs Minny where Pitta scored that's the only time I've seen that run. Why? Jacoby Jones has done a better job at shorter routes & better hands this year but we hit the goaline he disappears why? That's on Harb's staff.

    Great post.

What the Pats did to us was showcase just how bad our offense is, the offensive line in particular.

Marlon Brown is tough as nails though. Great seeing him work hard, tough out an injury, etc.
