Re: Can someone intelligently explain how we lost 41-7 at home to the Patriots?
This.
The offense /coaching staff made a late run after it's customary 2 and a half quarters of futility, but flatlined at crucial points late in the game.
Then, they did something I can't remember ever seeing. The entire team and coaching staff quit. They quit. Gave up.
At home.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HDAlthough Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

He has to be. The injury has a 2-3 week recovery.
And I am pretty sure he switched braces at the half.
I think in the beginning of the game the brace had 2 pieces near his calf. The one after the half only had one. Or maybe I was seeing things.
They are going to say it wasn't an issue but in the first half it clearly was. He could have also received a shot at the half, since he appeared to loosen up.

Our horrible gameplan and playcalling would have lost even with a healthy Flacco. Our coaching staff lowers our odds of winning any given game by about 25%.

Sometimes you just have to go with Occam's razor. Now whether theyre 34 points better than us is another thing.
They hate us..... but they want to BE us. (.... or at least poach all our players/coaches/FO people!) :respect

This team simply mailed it in, that's all! Bisciotti should be ashamed of the way his product performed tonight...oh, and btw, how does Bellichek get away with those four fake injury timeouts tonight in an obvious effort to slow down our momentum. That is totally bush, not that it caused us to lose, certainly; we took care of that ourselves!

I noticed that too. It seems that every time the Ravens made a play on offense, there was an "injured" patriot on the ground. They must really be careful with this, or the NFL will turn into soccer. They will soon need to start giving yellow and red cards to players faking injuries.
About the score, it was 20-7 midway through the second half. After the turnover on downs, the wheels fell off, it happens in the NFL. There's no way that this Patriots team is 41-7 better than the Ravens.

We're mediocre. We are not elite this year. Today was a reality check. We faught come from behind wins against mediocre teams in the last four games. But against good and not even a great NE team, we got exposed. Flacco was off beyond his knee, our receivers were vanilla and our O-line should be in the dictionary for the term, "Games are won and lost in the trenches" Our Defense provided no pass rush (Suggs is overpaid). Our run defense over-pursued like fish on the line and the refs were pulled out of a retirement home.
