That's what I've always seen. My brother is a Pats fan but hates baseball. He's always told me that until Parcells got there most Boston fans didn't even know there was a football team in there area. They love their Red Sox and only feel that way about the Pats, Celtics and Bruins when they're winning.

I listen to 105.7 in Baltimore this week they're talking about what should be Justin Tucker's nickname.
C'mon, Ed from Arbutus on 105.7 the Fan knows his shit!

    Agreed.

But the bandwagon Steeler fan (the ones who have never set foot in Pittsburgh) can be just as annoying.

No doubt. We could say the same of every fan base. :)

What? That dude is the most boring guy EVER to be allowed on the airwaves. Old dogs don't even need be but down at the vet when he is on, they just play the radio when he has a call in and the dogs go to sleep permanently.

This. I think the Pats will always be second fiddle to the Red Sox to a Boston fan. Hell, they're probably even behind the Celtics and Bruins.

This is pretty false but the media perpetuates this myth, both locally and nationally, that people outside of NE believe it.

Look at the TV ratings for example. The Sox had a playoff game at the same time the Pats had a Sunday afternoon game, and the Pats destroyed them in local ratings.

I will say this, the Sox local media coverage have a lot of obnoxious guys, they're louder and people tend to pay more attention to them.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of bandwagon fans on both the Sox and Patriots, but that's what happens when your team is successful.

And when it comes to smart or dumb fans, every fan base has them.

In regards to the OP, that Pats poster you quoted I believe meant Gronk for next year, not this year.

I live in the heart of Patriots fandom and there are a lot of good fans and a lot of bad ones. As a whole, I find Red Sox fans way more annoying than Patriots Fans. There are casual football fans here like there are casual fans everywhere. I know a lot of people up here who are Patriots fans and good football fans. As a whole, they tend to be a little worried about this game. The Patriots are depleted and they know that the Ravens, while inconsistant are tough to beat at home.

It's not the Pats fans I mind so much, it is the non-stop knob-slobbing that the national media gives them. CBS has an effing restaurant in their stadium, and I am pretty sure Nantz is aroused the entire broadcast when he covers them.

    You're lying.

105.7 is a CBS radio station. iHeartRadio only plays Clear Channel
    radio starions.

There are no Baltimore sports talk stations owned by Clear Channel.
