I'd love it. I thought his defensive schemes were outstanding.

I'm partial to attacking defensive schemes though.

It's not just them either. Webb, Jimmy, Dig and Elam...they're all physical, aggressive players.

You're not going to see John Harbaugh bring Rex Ryan back here. Way too much of a threat to Harbaugh's credibility as a HC.

My first choice for OC is Joe Lombardi from the Saints. My first choice for DC is probably Ted Monachino, but they may want to go outside the organization to get a new perspective. If they do, I'd go after Winston Moss from Green Bay.

Firmly behind Joe Lombardi, but how about Greg Knapp?

He's not going to unseat OC Adam Gase out there in DEN, so maybe he'd make his 3rd move in 3 years to have an OC job again with a good QB and excellent franchise. Not a youngster though at 50 years old.

He QBC'd Schaub 2010-2011, overlapping OC Kyle Shanahan.
Also OC'd the mess that was OAK last year (also back in 2007-2008), but not sure you can blame him too much for that recent disaster though.

I dont think Rex is any threat at all to Harbaugh. Hes a good DC and though im sure another team will give him a chance eventually, I dont think theres any question the Ravens made the right choice.

Monachino may be a good choice. I just dont see them getting rid of Pees personally.

There's always retirement. Ol' Dean is 64.

I dislike attacking schemes -- at least to the Ryan extent. They make rookie QB's cry, which is why rookies and backups could never beat us. But the great QB's -- the kind you see in the playoffs, like Manning and Brady -- were licking their chops against Ryan's D. Bringing pressure leaves holes, and if you're facing a QB that can find and exploit those holes, he's going to beat you. Ryan defenses were last useful in 1985.

I actually like Pees. He's not as passive as Mattisson, but he's not reckless either. We won a SB with him, and we won one with a VERY vanilla Marvin Lewis scheme. Gambling defense is exciting, but not a good path to a Lombardi.
