Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday
They are up to nearly $900 donated for this stupid effort. How about taking that money and donating it to a worthy cause, like the typhoon victims in the Philippines or even Toys for Tots.

Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday
You guys had some pretty good comments on this thread so I just emailed this to 98 Rock.
--------------------------
Please don't pay for a plane and banner message at Hinz Field. It will make both the Ravens organization and our Fans look very bad. The timing is way off. If we had swept the Steelers and clinched the Division it would be one thing, but doing something like this is beneath the Ravens organization and Baltimore Fans. Also, anyone who has been to Heinz Field knows that 98% of the fans there are pretty cool. The trouble making Steeler fans live here and in Southern PA. Those folks are the ones that "deserve" your message & they'll never see it. Please give the money you raised to Toys for Tots! Much cooler.
Thanks,

Thanks Baltimore Ravens Fans - You're the Best!

I must have run into the 2% up there, Fred too. It seemed a lot more than 2%. I was with Raven Jeff from scout's board during the 01 playoffs
when Elvis curled into his infamous fetus position with JO looking down at him in disgust. Ask Jeff what happened.
Sorry, but the message would get thru to the right people.Last edited by AirFlacco; 12-13-2013 at 05:20 PM.

Re: 98 Rock Plans to fly banner over Heinz Field on Sunday Dec. 29
I can relate to this. I grew up in the 70s and listened through the 80s, when the music they played was what I listened to (Zep, Skynyrd, Stones, BadCo, REO, etc.). When my wife turns it on in the car, most of the time I cringe. The new stuff is just bad.
But my stepson just got an internship on the Morning show so I guess I'll be tuning in for that.
The banner thing is just lame.

Pretty bad, isn't it? Unfortunately, if you have to listen to terrestrial radio, there are very few choices. If you're not listening to classic rock on 100.7, your other choices are basically rap/hip-hop, or some god-awful chick screaming the same 5 words over some electronic dance beat. If you want to venture into what passes as "country" music these days, you're subjected to the same shallow lyrics, in which the song will be about drinking, working on a job, fast cars, or America, with the rhythm and structure of most of the songs being identical to each other.
Maybe that's why most people listen to their MP3s or satellite radio while driving.

Looks like 98 Rock's Campaign has been removed. Guess someone with some brains over at WIYY realized what an asinine idea this was and pulled the plug.
