Re: Bad luck on the Flacco deal?
esport-
I come before you a humbled man --- I lied!!!!
I reread your post and missed the "2008" part, thinking I saw "2000"!!! You were more correct, and checking pro-football-reference.com, it lists Pitt, Tenn, Ravens @ 1,2 & 3 for defense.
In my "defense", for the Ravens 1st Super Bowl run, I checked nfl.com to confirm, and it shows that Tenn had the "#1 Ranked Defense" for the 2000 regular season. The debate at the time included what should determine "best" defense - Tenn had a lower yards per game average than Balt (238.3 to 247.9), but the Ravens had a ridiculous and record setting points allowed per game average (10.3 v. Tenn's 11.9). Curiously and interestingly enough, p-f-r.com lists the Ravens as ranked #1, based upon the points, while nfl.com uses the yards. Both teams had good D's, but I'll have to say that I've always been a bigger fan of my team scoring more points than the opponent during each game! ;)
