Jim Rome
Every time I hear Jim Rome, who I like, I always think back to the first time I ever saw him. He was calling Jim Everett of the LA Rams "Chris", Like Chris Evert the female tennis pro. Hilarity ensued: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57W05-oopNA

Re: Jim Rome
For the longest time, I thought this was staged. Apparently, it really wasn't. Everett had thin skin there, but showed amazing restraint not to wail on Rome.

“When I think of a Baltimore Raven - we go in there, we take your lunch box, we take your sandwich, we take your juice box, we take your applesauce, and we take your spork and we break it. And we leave you with an empty lunch. That’s the Baltimore Raven way.” - Steve Smith Sr.
Call me a Special Teams coach again. I dare you! I double dare you, MFer!

Re: Jim Rome
My memory of Rome is when he "adopted" the Cleveland Browns fans as the best fans in the NFL while they were without a team for 3 years. The Browns fans in turn idolized him and designed their first fan message boards based on Rome's smack-talking shtick:
"Have a take. Don't suck. Scoreboard. Rack him. Out."
The marriage came to a crashing end when Rome jumped on the 2000 Ravens' bandwagon as they made their way towards Super Bowl. It was a messy divorce, to say the least.
