    Duck Gino

Here comes the blitz. Squeelers are a big blitzing team with multiple packages to begin with but when then saw this stat you just know they'll be blitzing even more.

I'm surprised Rexy didn't blitz more because he's known for that too unless he pulled a Chicago where they didn't put someone over Gino but dropped more people into coverage to defense Joe. They won w/o pressuring Gino. No wonder he improved in Chicago. No one was coming at him or not as much. Squeelers will come at him ala TP by Oher a few years ago only Gino will have 350 pounders lining up over him.

    DUCCCCCKKKKKK.

Joe's QB rating w/o the blitz vs Jets was 137.5.

Joe's QB rating with the blitz vs Jets was 16.7.

This scares the shit out of me.

    ___________________________
Reality: Joe Flacco had a QB rating of 137.5 when the Jets didn’t blitz Sunday. When they did, it dropped to 16.7.

Perception: I think this says more about the offensive line than it does Joe Flacco. Give Joe time and he is really effective.

Yeah that's a scary stat. Is this Halloween or Thanksgiving? Seriously though, after reading that I'm not so confident in my gut feeling that the Ravens will win. Ben will put up points. Red zone defense and execution with the O-line especially will be key. I don't give a damn about scheme at this point. The coaches and players have to perform their jobs better than any game this year to get the W. It's gonna be a dog fight.

Yea, we were all saying tonight at the Thanksgiving party at Half Pints in Bel Air. He's the difference.

Another stat in that link showed our D giving up 16 pts pr game since Denver but
Big Jen is the difference with Gino getting pushed back into Joe.

    ______________________________
Reality: Since opening night in Denver, the Ravens have given up just 16.6 points per game.

Perception: And that should be good enough to win every week!

I've been posting that for weeks that the D held Rodgers and Jen to under 20 pts
but the offense couldn't score because JOe was getting killed. So was the
    running game.

You should win every game holding teams under 20 pts.

Let's just forget about how bad the Steelers Oline matches up with our front.

Don't forget they already beat us once with that o-line and Jen was the difference.

That was @Pittsburgh, they caught us off guard with the wild cat, and the defense has improved since then. Pees has to be aggressive tonight though.

Pees needed to be aggressive every game this season, and hasn't. The "bend but don't break" philosophy that he likes to employ only works when your offense is scoring points. You keep letting other teams march down the field and score FGs, you'll keep losing close games because you can't score enough to overcome the points you keep allowing.

Not to mention the fact that it keeps your defense on the field for long periods of time.

It doesn't matter where the game is if Joe doesn't get time to throw. We usually lose up there and win here but this is different with Gino getting pushed around.
Joe's rating is 16.5 when they blitz and you know they'll be blitzing. Rex didn't last week but Piss will. That's how they always beat us.

That said, if Joe's rating is 137.5 we'll win. The guys last night were pessimistic
    about the game.

At home this year, our defense has been swarming, and a lot of that is to do with crowd noise, so it does matter where the game is being played imo. You can't just say "oh gino will lose us the game", lets point out some weaknesses the Steelers have, like having to play their back up nose tackle, or play without Woodley. They can blitz all they like, but what elite pass rushers do they even have? Yanda has been playing well agains recently, so that will play into our favor. The Jets front is miles better than the Steelers front too.

You can if Joe's QB rating is 16.7 and that's a reflection on the entire line, not just Gino. OUr D held Jen under 20 pts up
there and still lost. Same will happen tonight if JOe doesn't have time to throw. That was the point in the link. If Joe
gets the time to throw, he'll win.

That 16.5 was against the Jets only not on the season, and the Steelers front is nowhere near as good as the Jets. They will be without woodley tonight too. Big Jen could be the difference for either team, blitz him often and he is just as likely to throw a dumb pick while running around a he is on completing a pass.

I know we have not played well this season but lets not anoint the Steelers just yet, they beat the Bills with a backup QB, the beat the Lions which was a nice win but the Lions have been falling apart the last few weeks and the beat Brandon Weeden, prior to that they lost to the Raiders and were blown out by NE. F Pittsburgh!
