Roethlisberger Expected to Ask for Trade.

    Ian Rapoport
#Steelers sources expect Big Ben to ask them to explore trade options after 2013. They fielded offers for him last offseason. Could again

Real shocker...not. He was pissed they fired Arians. He even sounded off at Rooneys about it. He knows Steelers lack talent ALL over the feild and wont compete anytime soon.

I am not surprised. Furthermore, I don't fault him.

I just can't see this happening.

For starters, he's approaching 32 years old, and with the amount of hits he's taken on and off the field, he's probably closer to 37 or 38.

But the clincher is salary. Unless the Steelers absorb a large part of his contract, or he reworks it, he's scheduled to cause a $17-18 million cap hit each of the next two seasons.

Yeah, and he should ask Carson Palmer how well that worked out for him. I detest players like this who when things don't go their way, they bail out. If I were the Rooneys' I would get it done now.

I kinda agree with you here. Too many players want top dollar for their services (most of them are grossly overpaid anyway). But then after they get paid, they financially strap their team from making improvements in key areas.

How is that the team's fault?

He is way better than Palmer. He hasnt been treated very well by the Steelers past few seasons. I dont blame him.

Re: Roethlisberger Expected to Ask for Trade.

Appearing on GameDay Morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Ben Roethlisberger is not happy in Pittsburgh and the Steelers will listen to trade offers in the spring.
According to Rap Sheet, Roethlisberger's issues aren't just Todd Haley-related. The Steelers fielded trade offers for Big Ben last offseason, but they would surely have to be blown away to deal him. It's already hard enough to find franchise quarterbacks. Roethlisberger just wants to win. In the unlikely event Roethlisberger is dealt, NFL Network mentioned the Cardinals and Big Ben's former offensive boss Bruce Arians as a potential landing spot.
