    Bengals contacted Jay Ratliff

In the hours immediately after losing defensive tackle Geno Atkins to a season-ending knee injury, the Cincinnati Bengals contacted former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff to determine his timetable for returning to the NFL, league sources told ESPN.

My co-worker, who sometimes sounds like Skip Bayless in terms of ridiculous ideas, thought the Bengals might perhaps jump on Marcus Spears. Two fold help, both as DL depth and also to pick his brain.

I trust Zimmer and Marvin. They will figure this out, but losing Geno was a gut punch.

I view this as an important year in Cincy because the division title is ripe for the taking.
Losing in OT, and Atkins injury, didn't help, but you've still got a two game lead on the Ravens. We'll see what both teams are made of on November 10th in Baltimore... Bc
