Only 8% of proceeds from NFL Pink actually goes to cancer research

I figured it was a small amount, but not this small. Is it more of a marketing tool to draw women's interest to the sport?

They don't have to do anything. Sure, there's a marketing element to it. I don't have an issue with that.

But the point of the pink campaign is to raise awareness, not to sell merchandise. The NFL is one hell of a platform to promote the cause.

I have no issue with the amount. And it's not like the league is stingy when it comes to charity. They've helped raise millions for the United Way for decades.

I used to work for a company that made United Way deductions from your check damned near mandatory. A few years after I gave my "Fair Share" they caught the head guys dipping into the funds and I said that's it. My taxes give enough free stuff away as it is.

It's a way for them to get more female viewers (the ultimate goal), sell tons of stuff and come out looking like the heroes here. So they don't actually donate much money? pffft They're making millions of of it
