Congrats to Rex, he found a way to survive. They looked pretty good especially on defense.

And Mike Smith - take the field goals!

The worst of it is that Mike Smith actually had 2 chances at the half. He gets the penalty with 1 second left and still doesn't kick the field goal. He's getting hammered today for that dumb move as he should be.

They are blaming Smith and the D. I totally get blaming the D. But the decision to try for 7 at the half I cannot fault, and if you think about it... if they had gotten the FG at the half, they would have also taken the FG in the 4th quarter on the 4 and 3 to tie the game. So it more than likely would have ended the same regardless.

Ryan was not the issue last night... Ryan TG and JJ were the only bright spots.

That game was so much fun to watch if you like defense. The goal line stand at the end of the first half was epic; it was genius to mug Gonzales and keep him out of the play. Who cares if you get a defensive holding when there are seconds to go. And Wilkerson - OMG he could not be blocked.

    Loved that game

I was super impressed with Wilkerson. He was incredible.

He would have been our pick if Jimmy Smith didn't fall.

    Terrific player.

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Don't know if this was posted already, but things just got worse for Atlanta.

Julio Jones, who they have up a kings ransom for, is done for the season:

Damn. They put all their eggs in the 2 WR basket and it showed last night. Now one egg is cracked and the Saints look unstoppable. This is why you don't make trades like that. They gave a 1st, 2nd and two 4ths.

Mike Smith on the hot seat?

They are done. And Roddy is playing with nagging injuries and might not even play next week.

Maybe they're the team that is desperate enough to trade for Josh Gordon from Cleveland.

Yeah, if Smith isn't already on the hot seat, he should be after the loss last night; one playoff win in five years.
