There is nothing wrong with Joe's drop back. A QB is supposed to scan the defense while he is dropping back, so when he 5 or 7 step drop ends he can deliver the ball. Classic pocket passer play style. If you want a QB who's fast and rushing his dropback, take RG3. Have fun with that. I'll keep Joe.

Does he trip over his linemen's feet 2 or 3 times a game?

    'Nuff said.

I was not talking about his pocket presence at all. He does move rather swiftly to avoid rushers now. I was strictly talking about him dropping back or trying to sell play action and bringing the ball back up into throwing position. Those two facets just looked slower to me than nearly every other QB in the league that I watch. And trust me, I am the last person who wants a Romo or Stafford on this team putting up stats and losing. I could care less if Joe throws foe 2500 yards or 4500 yards as long as we are in the playoffs and top of the AFCN at the end of the year.

I'm not going to get into criticizing the play calling myself, because the offensive line hasn't been pass blocking or run blocking well.

The play-action issue is the one I am not sure about. Joe would occasionally sell the fake well, but not often. However, part of the reason why Joe might not be selling it as well now is, because he is trying to get his head turned around more quickly, since the protection has not been there.

The notion that Joe is too slow is nothing I'll endorse. The OL has been the problem this year. Although I do wish they threw in some quick slants so he doesn't get hammered all day long.

Maybe that's why he looks so slow after getting hammered earlier in the game. If he doesn't have some bruises or red marks, I wouldn't be surprised. Flacco will be aching today, after getting beat up yesterday.

I agree. One question I do have about Joe is why he does not do more at the line of scrimmage to get the o line in sync. For example, I see lots of other qb's walking up and down the line pointing out defensive players, changing protections, etc. Joe just pats his backside a few times (probably going to play #2).

I don't know, but it just seems with a o line who's struggling with communication that the qb could do more.

I'm more worried about the turn stiles currently pretending to be o-linemen.

I think... well at least I hope, that adding Monroe will help the whole line in a sense. Plus I liked the fact that they called some screens and quick outs yesterday instead of these slow developing plays. Also see that the stretch play is back in the mix

I'm definitely optimistic once Monroe starts at LT.

I know one thing, you had better pay me one million a game to get my ass kicked the way he did Sunday.

word is that the o line had issues with regular plays, thinking joe doing bunch of audibling might confuse them more
