I don't think they are giving up on him that quickly, especially after he played better last game. Although Shipley did look good, actually better than KO has been playing. If he doesn't continue to step up, the hook may come soon.

Pro Football Focus and Football Outsiders both have a long history of drawing strong battle lines on this board, and even back in the Sun Spot days.

It's time to give this guy at least a shot at starting.
Gino wasn't "walked back into the pocket" on every passing play like you're suggesting. Nor was he completely "nullified" on every running play, which you are also suggesting. Chill with the hyperbole.

Is Gino perfect? No way, but he is learning as he goes and the Miami game was his best yet as a starter.

Regarding Shipley, stop making him out to be the second coming of Gene Upshaw or something. Shipley played decently, but he got bested a few times as well. Additionally, playing center is more challenging than guard, so just because Shipley had a handful of nice plays as a guard does not mean he would do the same as a center.

You're right. He wasn't walked back on every play.

There was the play on Rice's fumble where he was lying in his
favorite prolonged position, this time on his stomach with two
guys looking down and laughing at him.

Then there were the times when he stood there as guys breezed
by him up the middle while he looked the other way.

Gino is a little poor on technique.

But he is really good at making Rice fumble.

    Just like Birk was.

The guy he was trying to wipe out recovered the fumble.

Just like McKinnie is good at making Flacco throw pick sixes. Just saying.

He is totally the problem when it comes to Ray Rice fumbling. /sarcasm

I also find it ironic someone questioning another's intelligence and failing to use proper grammar and punctuation in doing so.

    Good on you.

As far as how I really feel about Gino? I think he is someone who is going to take a lot longer to develop than everyone had hoped. However, the entire OL has played like crap since the first week. This is why it is inaccurate to try and pin all of the offensive woes on a singular performance or individual. Even Marshall Yanda, who is easily the best lineman on the squad, has gotten his arse handed to him on multiple occasions this season. The point is that blaming everything on Gino at this juncture is about as idiotic as blaming Flacco for an interception that bounces off the hands of Ed Dickson. It is too small of a sample size and there are a tremendous amount of other variables at work here; most of which we just don't know about (e.g., Juan Castillo).

You'd think he would be focused on LSU right now, but nope...gotta make sure Gino causes Rice to fumble.
