Re: Ozzie says Monroe can help us NOW!!
I think Monroe starts and plays today I'll be a little disappointed if they don't feel he is ready. But the coaches should know best.
It's not out of the question that a team could give a 7th for McKinnie if they really think he can help them and are worried about someone else grabbing him after he's released. If they can't trade him, IMO they should keep him for depth.

I think if he's crammed enough, Monroe will start. NTM, I bet he has a wrist band with the plays on it. Those things can be really helpful.

Re: Ozzie says Monroe can help us NOW!!
McKinnie is already 34, and nearing the end of his career. IIRC he has/had money problems, so his salary is very important to his financial future. I'm sure he can't make this kind of $$$ doing anything else. He may not be happy with the Monroe move, but why would he jeopardize a possible 2014 contract? ... Bc

Re: Ozzie says Monroe can help us NOW!!
Not necessarily. Oher has previously acknowledged that he is a right tackle, so he knows he isn't getting the money of a left tackle. The Ravens might find it valuable to sign him again at a reasonable cost, and Oher might take a reasonable deal. The market for RTs is far less expensive than for LTs, and I think the Ravens like Oher as a RT.

Re: Ozzie says Monroe can help us NOW!!
Well, I kind've knew everything up until now would be coach-speak. They won't tip their hand until the last possible moment. they WANTED their defense to focus on game planning for Monroe. Not sure what edge it gives us since McKinnie would be loads easier to deal with but...

Re: Ozzie says Monroe can help us NOW!!
LOL - DOOM ON ME!!
I should have known Ozzie the great bluffer was bluffing!
But it isn't draft time. I know a guy who was eating at the
same restaurant as Ozzie's family. Oz passed his table on the
way out and he said Flacco please!
Oz said he's that good huh?
As far as Oher, how can they keep both him and MOnroe under
the CAP. Get rid of Suggs?
I don't think so.
