Buffalo is #23 in the NFL allowing 4.3 YPA. I'm betting that we see significantly more success rushing on Sunday. If we don't, then I'll start worrying.
I think you have a solid point. Theyre not bad against the run for obvious reasons. outside of Denver, who i think is just scoring so damn much its forcing teams to be pass happy and abandon the run completely, the other two boast 2 of the leagues better defenses across the board. I think sunday will be more telling of where were at if only because our OL has had some time to gel and its obviously a focal point that Harbs is trying to address.

I've seen elements of ZBS for the past 3 years or so, but we discussed in another thread that it seems to have changed this year. They're not running much outside ZB like they were last year or two.

Ultimately it comes down to winning the 1 - 1 battles, which many times they are not.

Teams change year-to-year, but in the interest of getting a larger sample set, here are last year's run D rankings:

    1: Denver
    7: Cleveland
    9: Houston

    30: Buffalo

And in terms of yards per rush:

    1: Denver
    2: Cleveland
    5: Houston

    22: Buffalo

Hot, this gives us (Ravens fans) reason for on-the-ground optimism this Sunday.
    Thanks for the stats... Bc

I actually think this is the game where the running game opens up the post and fly patterns. Small sample but they seem to play man on those routes and they can be beaten.

Actually, that wouldn't explain them being #1. It's not yards per game, it's yards per carry. If teams are behind and passing a lot it would tend to lead to a BETTER YPA because the Denver defense would be expecting pass plays.
