    Manny Machado blew out knee

    Was anyone watching?
Sad and devastating end to the Orioles season. He was coasting to first on a ball just out the infield hit the bag and knee buckled. Looks to be torn ACL, he had to be carted off.
Hoping to see Manny next year.

    That was horrible.

Felt terrible, he looked like he wanted to cry.

Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

I'm sure when he gets the news of the type of injury he'll be in tears. Hate seeing that type of thing. I guess that's the bad the comes with watching sports. You follow these guys so closely its like a friend of yours getting hurt.

That was just painful to watch, here's to hoping he's on some good pain killers and he makes a quick as possible recovery from it.

Wasn't watching, but Twitter blew up. Had players from all over the league and even Torrey Smith sending their well wishes.

What did the Orioles do to the baseball gods to deserve this ending?

Now both Machado and Bundy are missing most, if not all, of 2014.

Machado will be back in Mid March if not sooner after having surgery. Manny won the best Glove in the AL fro all positions and not just 1 position on top of of his gold glove at 3rdbase.

Yeah, certainly Manny's injury was "lucky", in that the Patella tendon was the only one affected. Patella tendon injuries are easier to recover from.

It was interesting that JJ Hardy's name came up in trade talks yesterday. Would seem like a VERY risky move to move Hardy, then switch Manny from 3B to SS while recovering from an injury. Then, the O's came out and said Hardy is not being traded.

This rumors get tossed around at these meetings like escorts in Vegas. The next set of meetings is when you will see the moves being made. So we'll see.
