Makes sense. Both of the guys their replacing are struggling. Was only a matter of time anyway as everyone knew Elam would se a starter soon.

Re: Matt Elam and Jimmy Smith are...
That wasn't a shot at Ihedigbo as much as a musing on what seemed to be the plan going into the season. All throughout the offseason we were waiting for the day that Elam took over Ihedigbo's strong safety spot and assuming that Huff would lock down free safety without a problem. It's weird to see it not turn out that way, and as I've said in the past it just seems like the FO missed badly on Huff.
Ihedigbo has obviously been a pleasant surprise thus far but it seems like he's overachieving a bit. He was only signed to a 1 year minimum deal this past offseason and he's never really shown to be a high-quality 16 game starter in the past. He's a cagey veteran but more of a 3rd safety and special teams captain type of guy. Hopefully he keeps on at this level, but I have a feeling he likely won't.

Re: Matt Elam and Jimmy Smith are...
I think we all knew that Elam was just too skilled and too athletic to keep off of the field long. Cleveland was the ideal game to start him.
If you really look at the Denver game, the TD was Jimmy's only true negative play, other than the frustration penalty. It was Graham that Peyton targeted unmercifully. Everywhere Graham went, Peyton went. I believe that Graham will play better, but the way Jimmy is playing he needs to be on the field at all times."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector.
