Doss is like Travis Taylor or Mark Clayton. All sorts of expectations and little results. After seeing Boldin rack up 208 yards and then hearing we're getting Doss back, I can only shake my head and wonder what these guys are thinking.

On the bright side.... the outcome of 90% of the kickoffs will be the same..... touchback. On punts, just hold on to the damn ball. I feel like he will have just a good of a chance of doing that as Jones did.

Except they were first round picks. When you pick a WR in the mid rounds, you're hoping you get a player, not counting on it.

We cut Doss' old 2.8M contract, correct?

Wonder if we're still on the hook for any of that old cash (doublepaying?).

Hopefully we're starting over and now that we're a week in, it's a week to week non-guaranteed contract...

Their thinking was complex.... The effect of cutting Boldin in relation to signing Doss is not linear. Enough with the Boldin whining....

As others have said, it makes the most sense since he already knows the system and can return kicks until Thompson or Jacoby are back.

    Next question, who goes?
If it's not the dude that wiped out Jacoby, something is wrong.

Well Torrey Smith, your defense of Doss in the face of fans clamoring for his release has a little merit.
They are bringing Doss back after the team cut him loose and no one else wanted him.

I'll cut you some slack, but I'd rather have seen your old Terrapin and Raven teammate LaQuan back instead.

BTW- it would be extreme poetic justice for Trawick to be the roster spot for Doss, making him the guy cut to make room for the replacement for the player he injured.

LaQuan must me seriously hurt, if not they probably would have kept him over Robert James. This move makes me think that Deonte must me out for awhile, at least Doss can return punts and kicks.

Except that Doss was a 4th round pick and Taylor and Clayton were 1st rounders.

    Slight difference in expectations IMO...

I heard they're going to pay him $6 mill this year...

Doss actually can't ask for a better situation.

He literally gets another shot and a chance to start over.

The ravens are now in more of a position of desperation.

But he doesn't have to learn a new offense.

He will probably see some game time right away returning kicks.

He gets a chance to prove his worth and earn a paycheck.

Believe it or not, it's probably about as good of a signing as we could hope for, given what's available...
